Make A Wish: Matthew Got His “Rush”

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded here in the United States that arranges experiences described as “wishes” to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Design House Interiors became involved with Make A Wish by being selected to design the proverbial “Man-Cave” for a local 17-year-old boy named Matthew. Who, after months of unexplained symptoms, mysteries and hospital/doctor visits was diagnosed with a form of brain cancer.

His original wish was to meet the members of the band Rush. While they no longer are touring he had hoped he could meet them in their hometowns. Sadly that did not happen but Matthew was excited to move onto his new wish of creating a space for him to hang out in! Matthew gave us a list of his favorites hobbies which then gave us interesting design opportunities. He wanted to achieve an industrial look while incorporating his love for Rock & Roll.

We were working with a budget of $5,000. With the many Make-A-Wish partnerships, the family and the wonderful community around us we achieved a fabulous outcome! Check out the pictures below for a look at what we created.
