Design House Interiors has had many exciting and enriching opportunities, from working on a concept to completion 2nd home in Vermont from the ground up, to helping a deserving young man complete his ‘wish’ during a difficult time for the Make a Wish Foundation (See: Matthew Got His Rush), DHI has always stepped up with enthusiasm!
When Mike Riccio of Rebuilt Homes, and Nicole White of William Raveis Real Estate, also known as the ‘The House That Social Media Built’ Dream Team embarked on their latest project, a fixer upper located in Madison Connecticut (better known as the MAD House) the Design House Interiors team was well on board.
The House That Social Media Built engages home enthusiasts on social media (Facebook and Instagram) to participate in a home renovation. In essence, social media makes all the decisions! Each Monday they present up to 3 options on different design elements for the home (from wall paint, to cabinetry, tile choices and so much more) YOU vote on your favorite and they implement it in to the finished design. With your help, the home is carefully curated for todays modern living.
With that said, it’s no surprise that they turned to DHI to completely furnish their latest venture. We really enjoyed working in this home, it had all the most recent design elements in place and was the ultimate canvas for our modern furnishings, artwork and accessories.
DHI added a midcentury modern vibe in the newly renovated kitchen and living space with barcelona style chairs, a bench cushion sofa and simple parsons style coffee table.. all accented with todays hottest trend color, Iced Berry! We added even more color in the lower level family room with the addition of a multi colored rug, bright yellow chairs and ‘fun for all’ colorful poofs! The before and after highlights how soft walls and bright colors can transform a dingy basement into a room the whole family can be comfortable in.
With the removal of several walls on the main level, an opportunity for a butlers pantry was created and DHI was asked to come up with three unique designs for voting:
The vote was cast and the results were in.. our winning pantry was…
With our neutral cabinetry, subway tile back splash and wood countertop and shelves, our vision, option C, was brought to life by the THTSMB team!
We completely loved the blue cabinetry and geometric wallpaper of option A and the sputnik light fixture and black cabinetry was so tre’ chic in option B..
But alas, the Madison shoreline fans spoke and Option C was the winner! What do you think? Let us know in the comments>>
On August 24th the Reveal Party took place at the home. Sponsors, Facebook and Instagram followers, friends, business associates and neighbors joined in the fun. Throughout this process Nicole and Mike led the way to an outstanding and beautiful home. And with that said, it has been sold! Hurrah!
