This past weekend, December 8th and 9th 2018, marked the first ever peek into the charming world of The Magical Elf House, a world imagined by a childhood story and brought to life by Design House Interiors.

The Story

The Magical Elf House story begins when you learn that Santa’s elves live among us, look just like us and and live in a storybook log cabin hidden deep in the woods of Guilford, Connecticut.  When you begin the journey, you learn of the story and how the elves wanted to throw a fabulous holiday party for all the young children and their parents, so they call upon the Christmas Fairies, Razzel, Dazzel and Snazzel (really Judi, Jennifer and Ramona of Design House Interiors!) to deck the halls, design, decorate and bring their house to life for all the kids to enjoy.

On this fun-filled, guided tour you are introduced to all sorts of funny characters who engage the children and love to play along.  The kids are treated to a peek inside Santa’s office where they can find their name on the nice list, then, along come the mischievous elves: Snitzel and Shintzel with their loud party music and zany dance moves! Suddenly, out comes Mrs. Claus from the kitchen to quiet them down as they need to be quite or they may wake Santa who is sleeping upstairs!

A quick walk upstairs into the swirling lights, and the kids find one room so packed with gifts they can’t even get in! Through the next door, they are greeted by a jokester who loves to amuse the crowd and then reveals where Santa is sleeping.  One more door and yes, in fact Santa is sleeping there so everyone is guided back down stairs as to not wake him up!

Mrs. Claus then invites the crowd into the bright candy shop kitchen to help make cookies!  The Christmas Fairies are there to say hello and help the kids frost and decorate delicious gingerbread men, an activity all the children loved.  But wait, did you hear that?! From out of nowhere Santa appears from his nap and invites his new friends for a chat and photo.

What a wonderful day for all!

We are so pleased that our efforts were successful in many ways.  We are not only proud to bring the homespun joy and spirit of the holidays to so many families, but we were also successful in raising money for the Guilford Center for Children as well as the Shoreline Chamber Scholarship Fund.

The Design House Interiors Christmas Fairies, the entire cast and crew, and all of our little Elves thank you and wish you a very Merry Christmas…

We look forward to see you again next year!

Hmm, I wonder where the Elves will be living then? Stayed tuned!
